HAIL TO THOSE WHO FOUND THIS DESK

In the olden days people would often take off their shoes before entering a temple. Some cultures still blindly enforce this attitude today, but very few remember the meaning and purpose of this action, which is directly related to the psychological mood that it may entice.

It is only by leaving at the door the shoes that we have soiled by walking upon the mundane world that we may remotely appreciate anything holy or sacred. Therefore, please attempt to leave any acquired psychological conditioning outside this crypt—in the mundane world, where it belongs—and seek to approach these writings and excerpts from an unconditioned place of “being and not knowing”. It is only by doing this that you may be able to entertain the rather unorthodox thoughts that you are about to encounter without instantly accepting them nor rejecting them, giving them thus the chance to flower or wither within you. This is a matter of being competent in using knowledge without becoming that knowledge. We tend to identify with a personal amalgamation of our past memories, emotions and thoughts without realising that by identifying with that which has literally passed away, we ourselves pass away, thus dying to what is actual, true, or essentially real.

This desk is designed to aid relaxed attention. Six most excellent pieces of music will play for you as you proceed through these writings. (To benefit from the music, make sure autoplay is enabled in your browser). To navigate through the different scripts, simply grab the “Next” or “Previous” manuscript at your left hand or press the buttons above them. To access an indexed overview of all writings currently available, grab the keys on your right hand.
